ICT AND CÁDIZ JOIN FORCES IN TOURIST DEVELOPMENT
Under the guise of the ITTF (International Tourism Trade Fair) and with the aim of encouraging tourist development in Costa Rica and Cádiz, Spain, as well as promoting socioeconomic growth in their respective populations and quality of life, the Costa Rica Tourist Board and the mayorship of Cádiz signed a cooperation agreement.
The document was signed by the Minister of Tourism, Carlos Ricardo Benavides, and the mayoress of Cádiz, Teófila Martinez, who regards tourism as one of Costa Rica’s most important issues as well as a world-renown destination spot.
According to the Minister of Tourism, Carlos Ricardo Benavides, this agreement will not only guarantee a better stay for visitors, but also provide an exchange of valuable experience from Cádiz regarding tourism matters, which will contribute to a higher level of activity in the country.
“The province of Cádiz has a great deal of experience in coastal tourism development and implementation of creative tourist route systems, with respect to port cities as well as cruise lines. They can offer us very valuable support as far as replicating initiatives that will help us stimulate this type of tourism in our ports,” said Benavides.
The benefits that each of the parties will realize will be a free exchange of information, experts, and technological transfers, with the purpose of increasing tourist development on both sides. They will also be able to make joint proposals to international finance institutions in order to carry out mutual projects. From a monetary point of view, both parties will be able to receive contributions from individuals, private entities, as well as international organizations and foreign governments.
